Course teachers
Main teacher Dr. Josefine Bohr Brask Josefine Bohr Brask is the main teacher and coordinator of the course. She is currently a senior postdoc in the Behavioural Ecology Group at the University of Copenhagen. She loves programming and uses it for different purposes in her research, including computer modelling and data analysis. In her research she uses approaches from networks & complex systems science to study social network structures (particularly in wild animal populations), and she also develops methodology for the study of networks. |
Course assistance Prof. Elodie Briefer Elodie Briefer is co-coordinator of the course and will also be assisting during the course. She is an associate professor and head of the Behavioural Ecology Group at the University of Copenhagen. Programming is an important tool in her research, where she for example uses it for data preparation and statistical analysis in R. Her research concerns animal communication, emotions, cognition and welfare. |
Guest teacher
Dr. Erin Siracusa Our guest teacher Erin Siracusa will show us examples of how she has used programming in her own research projects, and she will also assist in other parts of the course. She is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Research in Animal Behaviour, University of Exeter. In her research she uses programming in R for a range of purposes, including data management, statistical analysis, and computer simulation. Her research focuses on the evolution and dynamics of social relationships, which she studies using long-term datasets from rhesus macaques. |
