Who can take this course?
The main target group is PhD students in the field of Behavioural Ecology, but others are also welcome to apply (such as PhD students in other fields, postdocs and Master students). See also the course description and registration pages, and the questions below.

I have used R/RStudio before. Can I participate in the course?
Yes you can. This course is relevant for those who have no or little prior knowledge about programming, regardless of whether they have used R/Rstudio before. See the course description page for information about the course content.

Yes you can. This course is relevant for those who have no or little prior knowledge about programming, regardless of whether they have used R/Rstudio before. See the course description page for information about the course content.

I only want to use R/Rstudio for data analysis. Will this course be useful to me?
Yes. Data analysis is R/Rstudio is based on programming, and knowledge about programming will therefore make it much easier for you to conduct data analyses in R/RStudio.

I am not good at math. Can I participate in the course?
Yes you can. It is actually a myth that you have to be good at math to be able to learn programming, and this course is designed for biologists without a high-level math background.

I don’t know much about computers. Can I participate in the course?
Yes you can. This course does not focus on technical aspects of computers, and such knowledge is not necessary to learn programming.

What does it cost to participate in the course?
The course is free, but participants need to cover any costs they may have in relation to the course, such as  accommodation and travel. See the practical info page.
